As we continue our transformation journey we are now seeking experienced self-motivated finance specialists to process a range of financial transactions and ensure procedures and processes are followed to deliver a high-quality service to our clients.

Responsibilities
  • Producing monthly balance sheet reconciliations for our clients presenting and analysing data using complex formulas and macros to provide a comprehensive set of accounts.
  • Provide guidance on complex queries to Finance Analysts or less experienced members of the team.
  • Create ad hoc adjusting journals as required to make any necessary corrections and provide advice to clients on preparation of journals.
  • Ensure that all reconciling items are identified documented and cleared within SLA by proactively working with clients and relevant internal departments.
  • Take ownership of query resolution dealing with escalated queries and complaints where appropriate and responding to stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Manage own workload prioritising as necessary to ensure that SLAs and deadlines are met.
  • Ad hoc project work where a high level of accounting process or system knowledge is required
  • Checking and approval of online banking and BACS payments
  • Root cause analysis : drilling down to identify and understand where things have gone wrong and working with line managers to implement preventative processes.
  • Provide documents explanations or demonstrations to auditors as required.
  • Attend meetings with stakeholders both in person and online to discuss accounts and resolve issues.
  • Carry out training and take responsibility for writing and updating desk notes within own area of expertise.
  • Create excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work to continuously improve processes and create efficiencies.
Qualifications
  • Educated to GCSE level including Mathematics and English or proven ability to work at this level
  • Advanced Excel knowledge including working with complex formulas and macros.
  • Good organisational skills : ability to multitask prioritise and work to strict and tight deadlines.
  • Effective at problem solving and dealing with complex queries.
  • Experience of double entry accounting and account reconciliation.
  • Ability to face challenges proactively and be comfortable and confident dealing with a diverse range of customers at all levels.
  • Ability to explain complex accounting issues to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Ability to take responsibility guide less experienced members of the team and make independent decisions within limits of role.
