Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant with PQE experience.
  • Expertise in management accounts within a Digital environment.
  • Experience in a sports club is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial management of Partnerships and Commercial departmental P&Ls.
  • Oversee full financial cycle: month-end close, re-forecasting, budgeting.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders for strategic financial insights.
  • Manage year-end Commercial accounts and compliance with Retail SOx.
  • Lead ad-hoc financial projects as directed by management.

Job description
Purpose

To provide strategic financial leadership and insight partnering across Commercial operations, ensuring robust P&L management, accurate reporting, and informed decision-making that drives growth and profitability.

The Role
  • Lead the financial management of all Partnerships, Tour, and other Commercial departmental P&Ls, collaborating closely with business leaders to provide transparent reporting and actionable insights that inform key decisions.
  • Oversee the full financial cycle, including month-end close, weekly re-forecasting, annual budgeting, and long-term strategic planning, ensuring all stakeholders are engaged and informed throughout the process.
  • Partner with Commercial leadership and cross-functional teams to drive strategic decision-making through insightful financial analysis and recommendations.
  • Provide expert financial support for both short-term initiatives and long-term projects, including capital expenditure planning, advising stakeholders on financial implications and opportunities.
  • Own theContracted Income and Commission Bonus process, partnering with relevant teams to ensure accuracy, transparency, andtimelydelivery.
  • Prepare and manage year-end Commercial accounts, acting as the key point of contact with external auditors and internal teams to ensure smooth, compliant audits.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Retail SOx requirements and maintain robust internal controls, working with stakeholders to embed strong financial governance across commercial operations.
  • Own the annual Commission Bonus process, partnering with relevant teams to ensure accuracy, transparency, and timely delivery.
  • Lead ad-hoc projects and initiatives as directed by the Head of Finance – Commercial & Retail, collaborating with stakeholders across the business to deliver impactful outcomes.
The Person
  • Higher education and qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with PQE
  • Expertise across management accounts in a Digital environment to drive strong links across the finance function
  • Strong excel skills; PowerBI experience preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
  • High level of commercial awareness
  • Effective and confident communicator (written and verbal) who is comfortable liaising with various departments and external stakeholders
  • Ability to build positive relationships with both finance and non-finance colleagues quickly
  • Collaborative – effective at leading projects and working cross functionally
  • Not afraid to challenge the status quo
  • Proactive approach to problem solving and the ability to work independently
  • Skilled at prioritising tasks and identifying opportunities and risks
  • Strong work ethic with a positive energetic can-do attitude
  • Calm and measured when working under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Flexible and adaptable – has the ability to work in a fast-moving environment
  • Sports club experience preferred but not essential
