Overview

We\'re working with a successful SME in the construction industry who are looking to appoint an experienced Finance Manager. This is a broad and hands-on role with responsibility for day-to-day financial management, reporting, and supporting the leadership team with decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Oversee bookkeeping, sales and purchase ledger, reconciliations, and payment runs
• Manage bank postings, reconciliations, and online banking
• Preparation of accruals, prepayments, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Project costing and analysis to support operational teams
• Preparation of accurate and timely management accounts
• Credit control and VAT returns, including partial exemption
• Liaise with external accountants and HMRC to ensure compliance
• Provide financial insight to senior management and contribute to business planning

What we\'re looking for

• AAT Qualified or part-qualified accountant
• Experience working SME businesses
• Strong background in the construction sector, with understanding of industry processes and compliance
• Proficient in Xero and Excel
• A hands-on manager able to build strong relationships across the business
• Organised, dependable, and commercially minded

Salary
