Overview

We’re looking for a skilled finance professional to lead and evolve the financial operations of our dynamic, student-focused organisation. This hands-on role involves budgeting and reporting, audits and compliance, with the opportunity to shape systems and guide a team. Working closely with the Chief Executive, you’ll manage day-to-day finance, drive improvements, support service level agreements and grants, lead the Finance Team, oversee payroll, and foster financial understanding across the Union.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and evolve financial operations, including budgeting, reporting, audits, and compliance.
  • Shape financial systems and processes and guide the Finance Team.
  • Manage day-to-day finance activities in collaboration with the Chief Executive.
  • Drive improvements, support service level agreements and grants, and oversee payroll.
  • Foster financial understanding across the organisation and ensure effective financial stewardship.
Qualifications / Experience
  • Skilled finance professional with experience in budgeting, reporting, audits, and compliance.
  • Ability to lead a team and work collaboratively with senior leadership.
  • Experience in payroll management and supporting financial governance across units or grants.
  • Values-driven and collaborative mindset with the ability to drive financial improvements.
Contract, Hours, and Location
  • Salary: £40,555 - £44,301 per annum (pro rata), including pension, and discounted membership to Aberdeen Sports Village.
  • Contract: Two Year Contract
  • Hours: 30 hours per week / 0.8 FTE
  • Based: Aberdeen
