Job overview

This is an exciting role and also an exciting time to join the captial team. The capital team is made up of 6 team members and you will be supporting the head of capital in providing business partnering services across the Trust and especially within the capital space.

The role involves working with key stakeholders within and outside the Trust and co-ordinating the annual capital planning and capital programme. You will also support with our capital governance and business case process and with the capital and fixed asset accounting.

The role offers hybrid / flexible working with lots of developmental opportunities and we look forward receiving your application.

Main duties of the job
  • Lead the in-year monitoring and reporting on the financial performance of the capital programme preparing monthly financial reporting and periodic analysis and forecasting of expenditure.
  • Support the Head of Capital Finance and Director of Estates on the active management of the composition of the capital programme to ensure the Trust maximises its capital resource whilst remaining within statutory and sector control totals.
  • Maintain an ongoing medium term capital plan and investment pipeline to facilitate capital planning at a trust and sector level.
  • Contribute to and advise on the development of capital business cases where required.
  • Work closely with other colleagues in the capital team to ensure the application of proper accounting practice around capital expenditure and fixed assets, and support the annual external audit of accounts.

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience.
