Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Produce monthly regional P&Ls and balance sheets.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles with insightful analysis.
  • Deliver financial analysis on KPIs.
  • Ensure timely monthly close processes and variance analysis.
  • Drive improvements in cost control and efficiency.
  • Partner with senior regional stakeholders.
  • Support capex planning and post-investment reviews.
  • Mentor a Finance Business Partnering team.
  • Deputise for the Finance Director as needed.
  • Travel to Gatwick occasionally.

About the Job

This is a high-impact, strategic finance role responsible for driving financial performance across multiple business units in the South region, as well as central overhead functions. Reporting into the Senior Finance Director for Business Partnering, the role offers a strong platform to influence senior stakeholders and contribute directly to operational efficiency and commercial decision‑making.

Duties will include
  • Producing accurate monthly regional P&Ls and balance sheets in coordination with central teams
  • Leading budgeting and forecasting cycles, providing insight and challenging assumptions
  • Delivering clear financial analysis on KPIs to inform decision‑making across operations
  • Ensuring timely and accurate monthly close processes and variance analysis
  • Driving improvements in labour efficiency, COGS, and cost control across business units
  • Identifying and supporting opportunities for operational efficiency and cash generation
  • Partnering with senior regional stakeholders, including the Operations Director and Executive Team
  • Supporting capex planning, business case development, and post‑investment reviews
  • Leading and mentoring a Finance Business Partnering team (2), supporting wider project delivery
  • Deputising for the Finance Director when required
  • Prepared to travel to Gatwick a couple of times a month.
About the Successful Applicant

You’ll be a qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) with at least five years' experience in financial management and strong management accounting capability. Your background will demonstrate business partnering, commercial insight, and the ability to drive performance through data‑led analysis. Advanced Excel and SAP experience is essential, along with a proactive mindset and strong communication skills. Previous experience with logistics, Supply chain or Food manufacturing is highly desirable.
