VANRATH are currently recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join a leading professional services company based in Belfast City Centre. What You'll Do

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll be responsible for managing the day-to-day banking and transactional activity across the business. This includes:

  • Maintain accurate records across multiple bank accounts
  • Prepare, post, and co-authorise electronic payments within deadlines
  • Process incoming funds, direct debits, supplier payments, and client cash
  • Post and print daily cheques
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations and treasury transfers between accounts
  • Arrange foreign currency payments and resolve payment queries with external parties
  • Monitor and manage a shared finance mailbox to ensure timely responses
  • Collaborate with the wider finance team to complete tasks efficiently
  • Provide cover and support across the finance team as needed

About You

  • Minimum 2 year's experience in a fast-paced, transactional finance role
  • Background in cashiering or bookkeeping
  • Proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Familiarity with foreign bank accounts and professional services
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Able to take initiative and manage priorities in a deadline-driven environment
