A dynamic finance team in Stockton-on-Tees is looking for a Finance Assistant to manage purchase ledger processes and support payroll functions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, while contributing to the smooth running of finance and HR operations. This full-time role also allows for part-time hours.

Job description

Were looking for a Finance Assistant to join a busy team in Stockton-on-Tees. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of purchase ledger processes, support payroll, and contribute to the smooth running of finance and HR functions.

Responsibilities
  • Process supplier invoices, ensuring accurate coding and matching with purchase orders and delivery notes
  • Prepare and process BACS payment runs, generate creditor reports, and issue remittances
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies, liaising with suppliers as required
  • Support payroll by processing timesheets, mileage claims, holiday pay averages, and distributing payslips
  • Manage new starter and leaver documentation
  • Track van deductions for P11Ds and oversee repairs/defect reporting for company vehicles
  • Allocate staff hours to sites for billing purposes and monitor site performance using CVR data
  • Liaise with staff on holidays and sickness, ensuring records are accurate
  • Assist with document management and cross-departmental reporting

Working Hours
  • Full-time: Monday to Thursday, 8:30am–5:00pm, Friday 8:30am–4:30pm (1-hour lunch break)
  • Part-time hours can be considered
