Job summary

A medical equipment service company is seeking a skilled technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on medical equipment across various UK and Ireland sites. The ideal candidate will possess an HNC in Electrical Electronic Engineering and at least 2 years of biomedical experience, alongside strong communication skills and a clean UK driving license. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK without requiring a visa.

Qualifications

  • DBS disclosure required for all applicants.
  • Enhanced Disclosure under the Disclosure Barring Service needed.
  • Minimum 2 years of biomedical experience in service and repair.
  • Minimum 2 years of advanced computing and networking experience.
  • UK based experience is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on medical equipment.
  • Complete repairs on medical equipment as needed.
  • Travel to various sites in the UK & Ireland as required.
  • Maintain safe working practices within the hospital environment.
  • Exceed contract KPIs to ensure customer satisfaction.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on medical equipment as per manufacturer's guidelines.
  • Complete repairs as required on medical equipment as per manufacturer's guidelines.
  • Complete associated admin needed to close repairs and PMs as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Update the company electronic service/maintenance reporting system.
  • Travel to various sites (UK & Ireland) as required to perform Corrective and Preventive Maintenance.
  • Maintain safe working practices within the hospital environment.
  • Exceed contract KPI's to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Work to maintain a high standard of customer service and protect your health and safety as well as that of your colleagues, our customers and members of the public. Promptly raise any concerns regarding potential violations of the policies.
  • Maintain spare part boot stock wherever necessary.
  • Attend customer meetings when required.
  • Seek opportunities to grow the business.
  • Review ways to improve productivity and reduce operating expenditure.

  • Exceed contract KPI's to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Capability profile, Comply with policies, and work to maintain a high standard of customer service and protect the safety and health of you, your colleagues, our customers and members of the public. Promptly raise any concerns regarding potential violations of the policies.
Requirements
  • DBS - Disclosure & Barring Service disclosure (formally Criminal Records Bureau disclosure) is required for all applicants.
  • The successful applicant must agree to an Enhanced Disclosure under the Disclosure Barring Service Records Bureau procedures. Employment will be offered to the successful applicant subject to a satisfactory Disclosure report.
  • HNC in Electrical Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • Qualification in Engineering, electronics or medical technologies such as biomedical engineering.
  • HNC in Computing or equivalent.
  • Qualification in Computing or Networking Infrastructure type qualifications.
Skills – Essential
  • Ability to follow complex instructions and processes.
  • Hold a clean UK Driving License.
  • Good organisation and communications skills.
Experience – Essential
  • Minimum 2 years Biomedical experience in a service and repair of electrodiagnostic medical equipment.
  • Minimum 2 years advanced computing and networking experience.
  • Have customer service skills and the ability to be confident in customer facing environments.
  • Field service experience preferable.
  • Must have UK based experience.
Languages – Essential
  • Fluent in English.
Visa and Applicability to Work in the UK
  • Applicants should not require a VISA and must have the right to work in the UK.
Mobility Requirements
  • Must be willing to travel to multiple sites within the UK & Ireland.
  • Desirable – Midlands UK location.
