Job Summary:

This position is responsible for repairing construction machines, component assemblies, and parts in the shop and field. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, ordering parts, writing technical reports, warranty reporting, maintaining company assets, and effective communication with team members.

Responsibilities:
  1. Repair equipment and components, including:
  2. Development of repair plans and sequences
  3. Determining necessary parts, materials, and tooling
  4. Performing repairs safely and correctly, with quality assurance testing of repairs and systems
  5. Maintain and complete reports related to parts, tooling, service, and work orders
  6. Communicate repair progress with supervisors
  7. Manage parts and materials through the company’s parts system
  8. Handle special tools and maintain shop equipment properly
  9. Use company vehicles and fuel cards responsibly
  10. Keep work areas and service vehicles clean and safe
  11. Maintain tools and equipment in good condition
  12. Follow all safety and company policies
  13. Perform additional tasks as assigned
Education, Experience, and Skills:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. An Associate Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology or four years of apprenticeship experience is preferred. Technician classification depends on experience, knowledge, and competence.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for handling. Also, required to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, lift, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment:

Frequent exposure to wet/humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, weather extremes, and vibration. Noise levels are moderate to loud.
