Overview

Our client Xstrahl designs and manufactures Superficial Orthovoltage Medical X-ray Systems used in cancer and dermatological treatments, and advances X-ray systems for pre-clinical radiation biology research. They are seeking an entry-level Field Service Technician who is organized and technically strong with a solid electronics and mechanical mindset. This role covers installation, preventative maintenance, and breakdown/corrective maintenance for Xstrahl therapy and life science systems. The position is based at the UK office in Brownhills, West Midlands, with occasional international travel required.

Responsibilities
  • Provide prompt and professional engineering support to Xstrahl therapy and research cabinet systems in the UK, with occasional worldwide travel.
  • Carry out installations including handover and acceptance testing.
  • Fault diagnosis and defect correction.
  • Complete CFRs and customer tickets in line with company procedures.
  • Maintain uptime of in-service equipment.
  • Communicate customer feedback and contribute to solutions in line with the CAPA process and Zero Defects policy.
  • Perform maintenance and system breakdowns on medical and life science systems and complete reports on time per procedures.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally; travel expectancy approximately 70%.
Required Skills and Education
  • Ability to clearly and confidently communicate technical aspects to physicists, scientists, and medical specialists.
  • Strong written and verbal English language skills.
  • BEng or MEng in a relevant field, or higher.
  • Good IT skills with experience in proprietary software, Windows OS, and Office applications.
  • Good mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Clean Driving Licence.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team.
Salary

Annual Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 depending on experience
