Overview

Our Client Xstrahl has manufacturing facilities in the UK and USA and operates globally through its international network of distributors. Xstrahl is a leading designer and manufacturer of Superficial Orthovoltage Medical X-ray Systems used in the treatment of cancers and dermatological disorders, as well as a pioneer in the development of advanced X-ray systems for pre-clinical radiation biology research.

They are looking for an entry-level Field Service Technician. This person is an organised and technically strong individual with a strong electronics and mechanical mindset who will be responsible for the installation, preventative maintenance, and breakdown / corrective maintenance for Xstrahl therapy and life science systems.

The individual will work from the UK office located in Brownhills, West Midlands, with occasional international travel required.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Provide prompt and professional engineering support to Xstrahl therapy and research cabinet systems based in the UK with the occasional need to travel worldwide.
  • To carry out installations including handover & acceptance testing.
  • Fault diagnosis and defect correction.
  • Complete CFR’S and customer tickets in line with company procedure.
  • Maintain uptime of in-service equipment.
  • Communicate customer feedback, contribute to and drive solutions in line with the company CAPA (Corrective and Preventative Actions) Process and Zero Defects policy.
  • Carry out maintenance and system breakdowns on medical and life science systems completing reports on time per company procedures.
  • Willing to travel domestically as well as internationally
  • Travel expectancy is approximately 70%
Required Skills and Education
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and confidently the technical aspects of their work to physicists, scientists, and medical specialists.
  • Strong written and verbal English language skills.
  • BEng, MEng in a relevant field of expertise, or higher required.
  • Good level of IT skills, with experience working with proprietary software as well as Windows OS and Office applications
  • Good mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities
  • Clean Driving License.
  • Must be self-motivated, and able to work under pressure both individually and as part of a team.

Annual Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 depending on experience
