Field Service & Calibration Engineer - Materials Testing, Materials Testing & Load Cell Systems - M62, M1 & M6 Corridors

Locations: Manchester, Birmingham, Stoke-on-Trent, Leeds, Liverpool

£35,000 - £40,000 Basic Salary + Vehicle + Benefits + Bonus

Are you an experienced service engineer on materials testing equipment or load cell integrated systems? Or do you have knowledge of materials testing in a lab and looking to get into a field service role? Read on for the opportunity to join this organisation; a prestigious, respected company. Responsibilities
  • You will be field based, predominantly covering a region but with further UK travel as needed.
  • You will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of this testing equipment and instrumentation. Examples include impact, tensile, universal, fatigue, or torsion testing.
  • You will be working within a variety of manufacturing sectors including the aerospace, automotive, and medical industries.
  • You will play an important role in ensuring the equipment is correctly calibrated and maintained to UKAS standards.
  • Compile detailed reports as appropriate.
  • The field-based nature of the role will require nights away from home; on average 1 - 2 per week.
Ideal Background
  • Knowledge of one of the following is essential: Materials Testing equipment, either as a current service engineer, or as somebody using the machinery in a lab. Specifically on impact, tensile, universal, fatigue, or torsion testing.
  • Service and calibration knowledge of load cells and connected systems such as checkweighers, weighbridges, or similar.
  • A strong engineering understanding in mechanical, electrical, and fluid disciplines.
  • Approachable, honest, and a team player.
  • Strong IT and communication skills.
  • Hold a full valid UK driving licence and have right to work in the UK as sponsorship can’t be provided.
