About the role

As a home‑based Field Service Engineer covering Telford, Shrewsbury and the surrounding areas, you will be responsible for servicing and repairing a wide range of electro‑mechanical garage equipment at customers' sites. This will include lifts and brake testers and previous experience of this type of equipment would be particularly useful.

Responsibility
  • To carry out routine maintenance on electro mechanical garage equipment
  • Calibrations, diagnostic / repair and installation on equipment including vehicle lifts, wheel & tyre, brake testers, gas analysers and smoke testers etc.
  • Completion and submission of accurate paperwork
  • Compliance and adherence to laws and regulations covering Health and Safety within the workplace
  • Ensuring control of your van stock to meet targets for first times fixes
  • The continued development of required skills to complete all work to a high standard
Qualifications
  • At least one year working on relevant equipment in a similar position
  • Good working knowledge and experience of activities in a field service environment which should ideally include garage equipment or similar
  • Ability to understand and follow procedures and work instructions, working to specified standards and using initiative when required
  • Self‑motivated with a ‘can do’ attitude to deliver a high quality service to customers
  • Good communication skills – dealing with colleagues and customers at all levels
  • Full clean UK driving licence
  • Demonstrable experience or relevant trade qualifications in a related electro / mechanical discipline
  • Ability to work (paid) overtime when required, or to have occasional nights away from home (hotels and food etc provided)
