A leading equipment manufacturer is seeking a Service Engineer for field-based work in Red Lodge, England. This role offers extensive training and a comprehensive benefits package. Qualifications

  • Experience with plant, forklifts, HGV, or similar equipment.
  • Experience in automotive or motor trade is suitable.
  • Holding a Level 3 qualification or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on materials handling machinery.
  • Provide reactive breakdown coverage within the assigned geographic area.
  • Complete extensive training to become fully competent in using the machinery.

Service Engineer (Field/Mobile Mechanic/Vehicle Technician)

Locations: Bury St Edmunds & Thetford

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 or 45 hour contracts available

Salary: £31,000 - £39,000 starting salary depending on contract chosen

Role overview

The Service Engineer (Field) role is with a highly successful and international manufacturer of forklift trucks. It is a field-based role within a small geographical location offering excellent on-the-job training, an extensive benefits package and progression routes.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out PPM and breakdown on materials handling machinery on a field service engineering basis
  • Reactive breakdown coverage within the allocated geographical area
  • Complete comprehensive training to get fully competent on all machinery and equipment
  • Spares placed in van overnight
Ideal candidate / Qualifications
  • Plant, forklifts, HGV, agricultural or similar equipment; automotive technicians/motor trade will also be suitable
  • Engine diagnostics and some basic electrical skills
  • Ideally hold a level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject
