Job summary

A recruitment agency in the engineering sector is seeking a Field Service Engineer to lead testing and commissioning of bespoke electro-mechanical machinery projects across the UK. Suitable candidates will have mechanical and electrical knowledge, PLC exposure (Siemens S7 preferred), and a full UK driving license. Job description

Field Service Engineer

Salary: up to £50,000 basic + Car or Car Allowance (c£5,000) + 10% Bonus (£5,000) + 7.5% Pension + Overtime. A full UK driving licence is required and the role involves travel and working autonomously.

Working for a UK subsidiary of a highly successful multinational group, the role focuses on leading the testing, service and commissioning of projects at customer sites with bespoke electro‑mechanical machinery. The majority of projects are in the UK; the company is based in Warwick, but you will travel to sites roughly once a month, mainly to the north of Warwick across the Midlands or North.

Suitable for those with experience in food manufacturing, packaging machinery or related industries, and for those with exposure to service, testing & commissioning within capital plant or machinery. PLC exposure is required, with specific Siemens S7 knowledge an advantage.

This Field Service Engineer job will suit:
  • Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Multi‑Skilled Engineer or similar – accustomed to travelling to customer manufacturing sites across the UK.
  • Technically astute (Mechanical / Electrical split), good knowledge of Manufacturing & Production machinery.
  • Experience in automotive, food & process, oil & gas, chemical or similar industries.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills – managing and coordinating multiple stakeholders (onsite colleagues, subcontractors, customers, etc.).
  • Mechanical or Manufacturing engineering knowledge – qualifications or experience in a technical role.
  • Able to travel to customer sites – full UK driving licence.
Role overview
