A leading energy solutions company in Bedford seeks a Field Service Engineer to join their team. The role involves the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of power products, requiring strong technical skills and experience with generator controls. Candidates should possess a City and Guilds level 3 qualification or equivalent and be capable of managing client expectations under pressure. We’re looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our Bedford Team.
Offshore work is required so individual must be trained or willing to be trained.

Installation of power products on customer site
Installation of power products on customer site
Commission and decommissioning of power products on customer site
Commission of power products on customer site
Fit data loggers & power analyses
Attend equipment breakdowns
Service and maintain Diesel driven Generators to a high standard
Deliver generator applications - Motor starting and variable voltage
Carry out load testing using sigma PC software
Deliver no break sync applications - grid lock
Telemetry installation in field
Basic electrical fault finding < 1500v dc and
Be able to operate fleet load bank
Low voltage switching, maintenance, isolation, commissioning
The duties described above cover the focus of the role, however from time to time you may be required to carry out any other duties which are reasonable and within your abilities to support other areas of the business.
Technical capability (power and ideally temperature control)
A City and Guilds/ONC level 3 qualification or equivalent (Mechanical and or Electrical)
Good organisational & communication skills
Good level of PC literacy including basic MS Office applications
Experience of Generator controls, Deepsea, Dief etc.
Well organised and capable of keeping vehicle to GSCS standards
Able to manage a client’s expectations when under pressure, regardless of the situation
Must hold a full, clean and valid driving licence
Must be able to work out of hours as and when required, and be part of the on‑call rota
