Field Sales Executive - Capital Plant (New & Used)

Location: Hertfordshire into West/Mid-Essex (e.g., Stevenage, Hitchin, Royston, Harlow, Bishop's Stortford, Chelmsford, Braintree, Milton Keynes, Luton, North East London, East London, Dartford and nearby)

Salary: £34,000 basic (up to £38,000 with allied‑industry experience)

OTE: Yr1 £40‑45k, Yr2 £50‑55k, Yr3 £60‑65k (depends on basic band)

Package: Company car (tax‑efficient) + fuel card + laptop + phone

The opportunity

A global, market‑leading manufacturer of capital plant is hiring an Area Sales Executive to sell new and used equipment across a high‑potential territory. Ideal for a rising star with early sales exposure (outbound prospecting, inside sales, proactive field canvassing, events) and the drive to build a long‑term field sales career.

What you’ll do
  • Own the patch and execute a territory plan across sites, depots, yards and industrial estates.
  • Convert a mix of internally generated appointments and timed‑to‑switch prospects tracked against renewal/refresh cycles.
  • Develop existing accounts: upgrades, trade‑ins, balancing new vs. used to maximise margin.
  • Run demos, site walk‑arounds, toolbox talks and attend trade events—be visible where buyers are.
  • Use CRM properly: log activity, stage deals, forecast accurately—make the system work for you.
  • Sell solutions (training provided): diagnose need, match spec, justify total cost of ownership, negotiate professionally.
About you
  • Early evidence of selling/persuasion: outbound calling, inside sales, field canvassing, events/exhibitions or similar.
  • High work rate, competitive, resilient—sets goals and hits them.
  • Natural rapport‑builder who can hold a room and communicate clearly.
  • Coachable and keen to master solution selling.
  • Process‑driven with tidy pipeline habits and territory discipline.
  • Full UK driving licence; comfortable on construction/industrial sites (PPE as needed).
