Job summary

A healthcare provider in the UK is seeking a Medical Engineering Technician for their Medical Electronics Department. The role involves managing the maintenance and repair of medical equipment. Applicants should have an HNC in electrical/electronic engineering and experience in maintenance, ideally in healthcare. Strong communication and organization skills are essential. This is a permanent position requiring 37.5 hours per week, with the flexibility to work outside normal hours when needed. The closing date for applications is December 19, 2025.

Qualifications

  • HNC (or equivalent) in electrical or electronic engineering.
  • Experience in electrical/electronic maintenance, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience working with engineering databases is an advantage.
  • Ability to drive; reasonable adjustments can be discussed for disabled candidates.
  • Self-motivated, well-organised, and capable of planning and executing maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Acceptance testing of new equipment and minor repairs.
  • Clean and decontaminate medical equipment.
  • Assist with acceptance testing and troubleshooting on respiratory equipment.
  • Coordinate access with equipment users and external suppliers.
