Qualifications

What’s expected of you?

DeterTech are looking for an Field Engineer to install, maintain and remove battery-operated security solutions for our clients. The role will be based in the following sectors: construction, energy, utilities, rail, retail, government and law enforcement and vacant properties. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the functionality, reliability, and satisfaction of our customers through effective maintenance, technical support, and problem-solving. Your commitment to technical excellence and customer service will contribute to the success of our service operations and the overall customer experience. This position is a lone-working and highly rewarding role enabling you to give peace of mind to people and communities, every day. The ideal candidate will be based in one of the following postcodes: HP, LU, MK, OX, WD, AL

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and commissioning of security solutions
  • Communicate successfully with site managers and DeterTech ARC to ensure all information is passed on successfully
  • Maintaining all areas where current site security solutions are deployed by conducting battery maintenance, camera reconfiguration, cleaning and servicing
  • Ensure there is a low chance of false triggers during installation and maintenance
  • Be responsible for ensuring all equipment, parts and spares are loaded into your business vehicle ahead of all appointments
  • Ensure all equipment is deployed, positioned and secured on-site
  • Fit, display and remove company signage around the site of installation
  • Conduct thorough quality checks after repairs and maintenance to ensure equipment meets safety and performance standards.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries and service requests regarding equipment issues
  • Successfully remove all off-hire equipment and pack it into the company vehicle safely
  • Train customers and end-users on proper operation, maintenance, and safety protocols of equipment.
  • Conduct workshops and training sessions to enhance customer knowledge and ensure smooth equipment usage.
  • Analyze complex technical issues and propose effective solutions to restore equipment functionality.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to address recurring problems and improve equipment design
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with clients.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • 3+ years hands-on experience in a field engineer role or similar
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in either telecoms, satellite, electronics, gas and electrics or an engineering background.
  • Have a full UK driving license.
  • CSCS training and H&S training would be desirable skills.
  • Knowledge of wiring/electronics/soldering and experience in alarm installations is desirable but not essential.
