Hours of Work

24-32 hours per week until early summer 2026

Tuesday 11am - 7.30pm
Wednesday 11.30am - 8pm
Thursday 8.15am - 4.45pm
Every other Saturday 8.30am - 5pm

All shifts over 6 hours include a 30-minute unpaid lunch break

Pay

£14.00 per hour

About the Employer

I’m recorded as severely sight impaired and have two lovely children, a guide dog, and a pet dog. We love long walks, baking, and outdoor activities. If you enjoy taste‑testing muffins and being around fresh cookies, you’ll fit in.

About the Role

Provide support to a person who is severely sight impaired, assisting them to get out and about, including driving, shopping trips, dog walks, family days out, and domestic tasks. Work is flexible and supportive.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with transportation, including driving to appointments, shopping, and outings.
  • Help with domestic tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, and general assistance around the house.
  • Provide support during dog walks and other activities, ensuring safety and independence.
  • Act as a trusted companion, maintaining clear and supportive communication.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Full UK driving licence (automatic car). Clean and valid licence required.
  • Over 25 years of age for insurance purposes.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to perform domestic chores and support tasks.
  • Sense of humour and willingness to engage in light‑hearted activities.
  • Training will be provided if no prior experience.
  • Successful references and an enhanced DBS criminal record check.
