A local support organization in Wallsend is seeking an empathetic individual to provide assistance to a person who is severely sight impaired. This role involves driving, shopping outings, dog walks, and general domestic help, fostering a supportive and trusting environment. Ideal candidates will have a full UK driving licence and a positive attitude, and will be able to engage in light-hearted activities. Flexible working hours (24-32 hours per week) are offered until summer 2026, paying £14 per hour.

Tuesday 11am - 7.30pm
Wednesday 11.30am - 8pm
Thursday 8.15am - 4.45pm
Every other Saturday 8.30am - 5pm
All shifts over 6 hours include a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
£14.00 per hour
I’m recorded as severely sight impaired and have two lovely children, a guide dog, and a pet dog. We love long walks, baking, and outdoor activities. If you enjoy taste‑testing muffins and being around fresh cookies, you’ll fit in.
Provide support to a person who is severely sight impaired, assisting them to get out and about, including driving, shopping trips, dog walks, family days out, and domestic tasks. Work is flexible and supportive.
There is a genuine occupational requirement for the holder of this post to be male/female in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and the Equality Act 2010 schedule 9 paragraphs 1 – 4.
Positions are subject to satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS criminal record check.
