Overview

Two friendly and kind carers are required to support my elderly mother with everyday living. This includes personal care, light household tasks, shopping, meal preparation and providing companionship.

About the Role

Duties and Responsibilities

• Support and/or prompt with personal care, including toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, and getting dressed.
• Support and/or prompt with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks.
• Support and/or prompt the individual to take medication.
• Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
• Support with food shopping.
• Develop a good and trusting one-to-one working relationship.
• Provide stimulating and engaging company, encouraging conversation with my mother, including eating together to encourage her to eat.

The individual’s needs may vary day by day and tasks may reflect this. You may be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.

You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and/or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.

Due to the nature of the work, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).

Two special outgoing personalities who are caring and kind and understand the importance of social interaction on a person's wellbeing, with a genuine passion for supporting the elderly.

Specific days/times required

• Monday, 2.5 hrs between 6.00pm - 9.00pm
• Tuesday, 2.5 hrs between 6.00pm - 9.00pm
• Wednesday, 2.5 hrs between 11.00am - 2.00pm + 2.5 hrs between 6.00pm - 9.00pm
• Thursday, 2.5 hrs between 6.00pm - 9.00pm
• Friday, 2.5 hrs between 11.00am - 2.00pm + 2.5 hrs between 6.00pm - 9.00pm
• Saturday, 2.5 hrs between 11.00am - 2.00pm
• Sunday, 2.5 hrs between 6.00pm - 9.00pm + 2.5 hrs between 6.00pm - 9.00pm
