Overview

We are prioritising applications from employees who are under formal notice of redundancy. We are looking for a part‑time Farm Worker to support the management of the historic White Park Cattle herd and the NNR/SSSI conservation grasslands at Dinefwr in Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire.

What you’ll be doing
  • Hands‑on support of the Farm Manager with day‑to‑day cattle welfare: welfare checks, calving, vaccinations, mucking out and bedding down.
  • Collaboration with the Area Ranger, Programming & Experience Manager and the Garden & Outdoors Manager on conservation grazing, hay meadow reversion projects and visitor site opening and events.
  • On‑call rota for evening and weekend coverage at Dinefwr.
  • Engagement with visitors and volunteers to promote understanding of the White Park Cattle and the park’s heritage.
Qualifications
  • Experience working with horned cattle, including husbandry and handling.
  • A keen interest in wildlife and/or nature conservation.
  • A commitment to engage visitors and volunteers in our work.
  • Awareness of health and safety and compliance in the farmed environment.
  • Experience working in a farm or estate environment.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Good communication skills.
Additional criteria for all applicants
  • Estate maintenance and practical skills.
  • Experience/qualifications to use ATVs.
  • Some flexibility around hours, depending on the needs of the herd.
