A local government organization in Cardiff is seeking a Family Gateway Contact Officer. This hybrid role focuses on providing essential information and support to families, requiring skills in relationship-building, effective communication, and understanding family dynamics. Candidates must demonstrate enthusiasm, resilience under pressure, and knowledge of Microsoft tools. The position involves managing referrals and delivering services that improve the well-being of families across the city.
We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, motivated, and positive with resilience and the ability to respond positively under pressure. You should have a passion for making a difference to the lives of families across the city and a comprehensive understanding of the needs of babies, children, young people, and families. Experience in building effective working relationships with a diverse range of individuals and groups is essential. You should be skilled in building rapport quickly through excellent interpersonal skills, capable of providing clear and accurate information and advice, and have a comprehensive working knowledge of the Microsoft package and/or case management systems. The right individual will also be able to recognize whether an individual is at risk and consult and liaise with social workers and other professionals or partner agencies as required., As a Grade 5 Family Gateway Contact Officer, you will work as part of the Family Gateway Team to provide information, advice, and assistance to families and professionals. Your tasks will include managing and coordinating multiple referrals. Contact with families or those referring into the service is facilitated through telephone calls, web chats, and emails. This hybrid role typically involves 2 days in the office at the Conference Centre, Eastmoors Road, CF24 5RR. Post #1 is a cover post for 3 days a week. You will not be expected to carry a caseload. Instead, you will focus on delivering services that make a difference to the wellbeing of babies, children, young people, and their parents/carers.
