Job Title: Fabricator Welder (Permanent)

Location: Oldbury

Hourly Rate: ?15.00 per hour

Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Day Shift

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Fabricator Welder to join our team. This is a hands‑on role where the successful candidate will be responsible for performing a range of steel fabrication tasks, primarily for the construction of steel structures and components used in building projects. The ideal candidate will be experienced in welding and fabricating steel, with the ability to read technical drawings and work to high‑quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricating and welding steel components for buildings and structural projects.
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication.
  • Cutting, shaping, and assembling steel parts and structures.
  • Welding steel parts using MIG/TIG/ARC welding techniques to required specifications.
  • Inspecting and measuring finished work to ensure it meets the required quality standards.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Operating fabrication machinery such as saws, drills, and grinders.
  • Communicating with the project team and supervisors to ensure work is completed on time and to specification.
  • Assisting in other tasks as required by the team, including site preparations and assembly.
Essential Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Fabricator Welder, with solid experience in steel fabrication and welding.
  • Skilled in MIG, TIG, and ARC welding techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high‑quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Good understanding of health and safety practices in a fabrication or workshop environment.
  • Own tools would be advantageous but not essential.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
  • Previous experience in fabricating and welding steel for building projects.
  • Welding certifications or qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds or equivalent).
  • Experience in using a variety of fabrication equipment and machinery.
  • Forklift or other relevant site certifications would be a plus.
