Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience within a mechanical/electrical engineering environment.

  • Understanding of mechanical drawings and quality inspection processes.

Job description

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Fabricator/Welder to join an established leading manufacturer and supplier of electrical equipment.

Job Description
  • Operate welding machines to fuse metal segments together using MIG or other processes.
  • Measure, cut, clamp, grind, drill, or tack metal pieces before welding.
  • Fabricate parts following mechanical drawings.
  • Prepare work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials.
  • Maintain the highest level of workmanship standards and product quality, ensuring products are produced and delivered OTIF to customer requirements.
  • Check and complete all paperwork associated with the works order.
  • Perform area housekeeping activities, including the prompt reporting of problems, shortages or equipment breakdowns.
  • May be required to visit customer sites throughout the UK.
  • Use general workshop machinery and hand tools related to the role.
  • Quality inspect colleague's output.
Qualifications and Skills
  • MIG, MMA/Stick Welding, Stud Welding and Plasma Cutting.
  • Prefer experience using the Armada Press Brake.
  • Hands‑on experience within a mechanical/electrical engineering environment.
  • Understanding of mechanical drawings.
  • Overhead crane/lifting slinging experience.
  • FLT Counterbalance.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively with operations personnel.
  • Experience within a continuous improvement environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills.
