Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Fareham is seeking a skilled Fabricator/Welder to join their production team. In this hands-on role, you will manufacture complex metal assemblies and perform various welding processes, including TIG and aluminium welding. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in precision fabrication and the ability to interpret technical drawings. This contract position offers a competitive rate of £16.83-£18.08 per hour, increasing after 12 weeks.

Rate: £16.83‑£18.08 PAYE per hour, increasing after 12 weeks

Overtime paid at a premium of time and a half, double pay on Sundays

Hours: 07:30‑16:15, Monday‑Thursday; 07:30‑11:30 Friday

Overview

Are you a skilled Fabricator/Welder with a passion for precision engineering? We’re looking for a Fabricator/Welder to join our specialist production team. This is a hands‑on role, taking components from raw material through to final assembly.

Key role of a Fabricator/Welder

• Manufacture of complex metal assemblies
• Perform various welding processes including TIG welding, aluminium welding, Trent resistance welding, seam welding, and electron beam welding to assemble and join metal components to high standards.
• Use of brazing techniques for secure and precise assembly of parts
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to produce parts to specified tolerances.
• Select and set up appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for each job.
• Take ownership of the quality of your own work, including signing off completed jobs

Skills and experience

• Proven experience in a precision fabrication or manufacturing environment
• Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and work to tight tolerances
• Skilled in hand tools and a variety of welding and assembly techniques
• Strong team player with a proactive attitude toward problem solving
