Welder / Fabricator

Location: Leicester

Pay Rate: £16.60 per hour

Shift: Monday to Friday, Days 6:00am - 2:15pm

Job Description:

As a Welder / Fabricator, you will be responsible for the fabrication and welding of components used in the assembly of heavy plant machinery. Working closely with the Fabrication Manager and other departments, you will ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the company's exacting quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out welding and fabrication tasks to meet production requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members across departments to achieve production goals.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, ensuring accuracy in all fabrication work.
  • Complete all required job documentation accurately and on time.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and adhere to company quality and safety policies.
  • Inspect work in progress and finished assemblies to ensure they meet quality expectations.
  • Contribute ideas for process improvements and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment at all times.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or near misses following company procedures.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Welder or Fabricator within a manufacturing or heavy engineering environment.
  • Proficient in MIG, TIG, or ARC welding, with a solid understanding of fabrication techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong focus on safety, quality, and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexible, proactive, and reliable approach to work.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices.
