This is a n “Email Engineer” role with global responsibility. The role will report to the Email Engineering P o D Lead and will be part of the Collaboration Engineering Cluster POD within End User Services Chief Technical Office

Responsibilities
  • Act as Global Subject Matter Expert: Lead and support email technologies, primarily Microsoft 365 Exchange Online, Exchange Hybrid, Exchange Server (on-premise), and Outlook clients (desktop, web, mobile).
  • Ensure Optimal Service Performance: Collaborate with global teams, vendors, and partners to maintain high-performing Exchange email services.
  • Incident Management & Crisis Support: Lead escalation and crisis calls for technical issues impacting global email services.
  • Drive Large-Scale Projects: Support and deliver email-related initiatives focused on IT optimization, cost reduction, productivity, security, business growth, and regulatory compliance.
  • Design Email Solutions: Create and implement solutions that meet stakeholder requirements, including business, legal, compliance, and cybersecurity needs.
Key Skills & Experience
  • Extensive Exchange Experience: Proven expertise in supporting and engineering Exchange Email (on-premise and hybrid) in large organizations, including mailbox migrations to M365 Exchange Online.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Server (automation, troubleshooting, high availability, disaster recovery, security, patching).
  • Integration & Networking: Experience with Exchange integration in multi-forest environments, mailbox integration via Graph API / EWS, and understanding of DNS, load balancing, routing, and NAT.
  • Security Awareness: Microsoft Active Directory and Active Directory PowerShell modules, Microsoft Azure IaaS components (e.g. Pet / Cattle VM builds, ExpressRoute connectivity, etc.), Exchange integration on a multi-forest design at large scale.
  • Communication & Influence: Excellent written and spoken communication, with experience influencing, negotiating, and presenting to diverse audiences.
Nice to have
  • HCL Domino Experience: Skilled in email routing, replication topology, applications, access control, and certifier management on large deployments.
  • Scripting & Automation: Proficient in developing PowerShell scripts and automating Exchange tasks.
  • DevOps / Agile Mindset: Experience with DevOps / Agile processes and tooling.
  • Network & Security Knowledge: Strong understanding of network topologies and protocols (DNS, load balancing, routing, NAT) and perimeter security devices / methodologies (firewalls, email gateways, proxy servers, anti-virus).
