We are on the look out for an Events Coordinator to join our Group Communications team on a 15 month fixed term contract. This role supports the Event Manager in delivering all aspects of event execution, including planning, logistics, budget management, onsite coordination, and post-event reconciliation. Events range from company conferences and the Annual General Meeting to financial results presentations, internal and external stakeholder engagements, agricultural shows, senior leadership meetings, and charity partner events such as GroceryAid.

Please note: this is a 15 month fixed term contract opportunity.

You will be responsible for
  • Manage multiple events simultaneously, taking ownership of key elements for both on- and off-site events, including UK-wide travel and occasional overnight stays.
  • Create event proposals and maintain clear communication with senior stakeholders throughout the process.
  • Coordinate planning meetings, assist with pre-event documentation, and ensure smooth logistics from brief to delivery.
  • Research and book venues, catering, AV requirements, and third-party suppliers (e.g., activities, speakers, entertainment).
  • Oversee delegate management, including websites, attendance, dietary needs, and seating plans.
  • Brief and manage internal teams and external agencies to support event delivery.
  • Monitor budgets, raise POs, and ensure cost-effective planning and timely supplier payments.
  • Provide on-site support and act as the main contact in the Event Manager's absence.
  • Gather feedback through surveys and analyse results to improve future events.
You will need
  • Proficient in MS Excel, including mail merge, VLOOKUP, and pivot tables.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
  • Experience in budget management and cost control.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Skilled in problem-solving and finding practical solutions.
  • Collaborative team player who values diverse perspectives.
  • Ability to remain resilient and adaptable in high‑pressure situations.
  • Solid administrative and coordination capabilities.
  • Familiarity with systems such as Oracle, Condeco, Concur, Your Contribution, and W&P.
