Overview
Unique Venues Birmingham (UVB) seeks an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead the technical delivery of conferences, events, and hospitality activities across The REP and the Library of Birmingham.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and deliver all technical operations for events, ensuring high‑quality delivery and safe working practices.
- Lead a team of Technical Managers, technicians, freelancers and casual staff, acting as the primary technical contact for clients throughout the planning and delivery process.
- Work closely with the Sales & Events Office and Hospitality Operations Manager to oversee technical scheduling, budgeting, equipment management and resource planning.
- Advises on technical aspects during sales and planning stages, support cross‑departmental communication, and drive efficiency and profitability through innovation and effective resource use.
- Up‑sell technical services where appropriate and maintain exceptional customer service standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Extensive experience delivering live events and managing clients, contractors, budgets and technical resources.
- Strong hands‑on knowledge of AV, lighting, sound, hybrid/virtual conferencing platforms and health & safety.
- Excellent planning, scheduling and administrative skills; highly organised and proactive.
- Positive professional attitude, strong time‑keeping and reliability.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and occasional unsociable hours.
- Experience in customer‑focused environments and an interest in theatre are highly desirable.
Offer and Salary
- Salary: £37,000 per year.
- Hours: 40 hrs a week (5 days out of 7).
- Notice period: 3 months.
- Holiday entitlement: 25 days per year, rising with service, plus bank holidays (holiday year 1 September – 31 August).

Working Location
Main place of work will be UVB in Birmingham, with possible temporary or permanent work at other local UK locations or occasional international travel.
