Commercial Estimator - Landscaping

Location: Northampton, NN6 8BE

Salary: £40k - £45k DOE

Contract type: Permanent

Working hours: 45 hours a week

This is a full-time office position due to the need for collaboration with other team members on a daily basis.

About the role

Are you an experienced Estimator with a passion for winning new business and service provisions? We are seeking an Estimator to join our team, focusing on playing an integral role in winning new Landscape contracts supporting the company's Play business targets. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with a passion for soft landscaping to contribute to exciting projects and grow within a dynamic organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret tender specifications and create associated base estimating models from master bespoke estimating models.
  • Identify and model any opportunities for competitive edge including the evaluation methodologies provided by each client.
  • Conduct site visits seeking out and learning from experts to strengthen model validity creating further opportunities for the tender submission.
  • Present tender estimating models at pricing meetings and monitor the effectiveness of the model, improving as necessary.
  • Create and manage relationships at all levels across idverde for specific tendering processes, enhancing opportunities to develop the business further.
  • Work in partnership with the design team to build competitive quotes.
  • Track quotes and tender returns day-to-day to ensure deadlines are not missed.
Requirements
  • Experience as a Commercial Estimator, preferable in Landscape, Play or Construction.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Developer skills and advanced data handling.
  • The ability to assimilate and interpret large quantities of information in different formats.
  • Previous experience of using Excel-based models within an estimating role, financial or other role necessitating advanced data management.
  • The ability to receive input from different internal sources and mould into an optimum solution for a business.
  • Strong relationship building skills with a commercial outlook in a working environment.
  • A Full UK driving licence is preferred.
