Overview

Job Title: Estimator  |  Location: Swindon  |  Type: Permanent  |  Salary: Circa £70,000

Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed and competitive pricing for tenders and budget estimates.
• Collaborating with Bid Managers, Planners, Procurement, and Technical Services to ensure accurate and cost-effective solutions.
• Advising on design options and pricing alternative solutions.
• Coordinating supplier and subcontractor quotations and comparisons.
• Supporting early contractor involvement projects with pricing expertise.
• Ensuring governance procedures and risk assessments are followed throughout the bid process.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of civil engineering and construction techniques.
• Experience with estimating software and commercial awareness of various contract forms.
• Understanding of procurement legislation and internal governance procedures.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• A collaborative mindset and ability to work across multiple teams.
• A background in sectors such as nuclear, construction, or defence would be highly desirable.
