Working within the Estates Controls Team, you will play a key role in supporting the development and embedding of this growing function within the Estates Management Group (EMG) and the wider organisation. You will help shape and implement effective processes that support strong governance and value for money across the estates portfolio.

The Contract and Procurement Manager provides a centralised service responsible for the procurement, renewal and termination of bronze level and low value EMG contracts. The role ensures contracts are planned, procured and managed effectively throughout their lifecycle, in line with commercial best practice.

You will work closely with senior colleagues across the Estates team, supporting a diverse range of contracts from smaller agreements through to more complex arrangements, mapped against commercial pipelines. The role involves assisting and advising contract owners, building strong working relationships with colleagues across the Estates and Commercial teams, and contributing to the continuous improvement of contract and procurement processes.

Responsibilities
  • Support, or act as, the Lead Officer where necessary for designated contract procurement and renewal exercises by managing the commercial engagement from a business perspective.
  • Engage with the Commercial Advisor (CA) within the Commercial Directorate where there is a requirement to vary or extend a contract.
  • Support EMG Contract Owners to manage their contracts and any interdependencies between contracts.
  • In conjunction with the Contract Owner (CO) manage the day to day running of the supplier contract. This will include monitoring supplier performance and having dialogue with suppliers to ensure standards are maintained or service failures rectified.
