An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Emergency Service Mobile Communication Programme / In Vehicle Systems (ESMCP / IVS) Training Department in the metas hal Vor they Dr repo camp er internship. ESMCP is a UK wide £19.2 billion investment in upgrading the critical communications network for all blue light Category one responders. In Vehicle Systems is the SFRS wide modernisation of front‑line voice and data critical communications systems, the biggest change to the services information systems since its formation in 2013.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service would like to invite applications for the post of ESMCP Training Instructor, based in flexible locations across Scotland on a temporary basis. The role is based across the three Service Delivery Areas to support a national rollout.
The successful candidate will assist in the design, development and delivery of the training packages for the service to transition to the new Guardian Fire Mobile software presented within the vehicle cabs on the Panasonic CF33 Toughbook and hands‑free transcripts, enhancing situational awareness at operation incidents. An upgrade to the Airwave vehicle device is included. The Training Instructors will also play a key role in other aspects of project management on a national scale, helping to develop knowledge and understanding of the Programme amongst SFRS colleagues and external partners.
Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to regular review in line with the SFRS performance appraisal arrangements. A higher salary place may be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.
