About the role

BYD UK is seeking a proactive and experienced ER & Compliance Partner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Employee Relations (ER): Provide guidance to managers on handling employee relations matters (disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence management).
  • Support workplace investigations, ensuring fair process and proper documentation.
  • Advise on conflict resolution, mediation, and employee engagement strategies.
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies across the business.
  • Compliance & System Building: Lead the design, development, and implementation of an ER & Compliance framework, including policies, processes, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations.
  • Partner with Legal and HR to update and implement compliance policies and procedures.
  • Support audits, risk assessments, and internal reviews.
  • Deliver training to managers and employees on compliance, ethics, and workplace conduct.
  • Collaboration & Projects: Partner with HR Business Partners and line managers to build a positive and compliant workplace culture.
  • Contribute to policy design and process improvement.
  • Drive initiatives related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and employee well-being.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Law, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Solid experience in HR/ER with exposure to compliance or legal frameworks.
  • Proven experience in building or setting up ER & Compliance systems/frameworks is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of local labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion and integrity.
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., CIPD, SHRM) is a plus.
