Join Our Team - Full-Time Equine Hospital Yard Assistant at Bell Equine!

Are you passionate about horses and looking for a rewarding career in equine care? Our busy Equine Veterinary Hospital is seeking a full-time Yard Assistant to join our dedicated team.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Assist with the daily care and handling of horses in our hospital
  • Support the veterinary team with some patient care duties
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised yard environment
  • Help with feeding, mucking out, grooming and general horse management
Starting Position: Yard Assistant, leading to a growth path: Supervisor + PCA Duties
  • Daily care of horses (feeding, mucking out, grooming)
  • Maintaining cleanliness and safety in the yard
  • Assisting with basic handling during treatments or procedures
Leadership Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing yard team and scheduling tasks
  • Ensuring compliance with hospital protocols
  • Training new yard staff
PCA Responsibilities:
  • Assisting vets and nurses during procedures
  • Monitoring patient recovery and welfare
  • Handling medical equipment and preparing treatment areas
What We're Looking For:
  • Previous experience working with horses (essential)
  • Reliable, hardworking, and able to work as part of a team
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail
  • Leadership
  • Working to an exceptionally high standard
  • Health & Safety compliance
Hours of work:
  • Average of a 40hr working week
  • Monday to Friday 8am to 5.30pm
  • Shifts during the busy season on a fair share rota: 7am to 4.30pm & 9am to 6pm
  • Saturday and Sunday 8am to 5.30pm on a 1 in 3 rotation. Lieu days provided
