Overview

Are you ready to kick-start your career in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? We’re seeking an Electrified Powertrain Engineering Graduate to join our ePowertrain team, giving you the chance to work on cutting-edge projects across the automotive industry. About the role: As an Electrified Powertrain Engineer Graduate, you’ll become a valued member of our ePowertrain team, responsible for the development of Hybrid and Electric Propulsion Systems. This includes key High Voltage (HV) vehicle system components such as Battery Packs, eMotors, Inverters, DCDC converters, and on-board chargers. Your role will involve progressing through and completing the AML Graduate Scheme with the aim of becoming an integral member of the Systems and HV components team within ePowertrain.

Main duties

• Taking engineering assignments both on practical activities and learning assignments to boost confidence in designing and validating components and functionalities using data-driven engineering methods.
• Being part of cross-functional teams to deliver components such as Inverters, Motors, Gearboxes, Chargers, HV and LV Converters, or Battery Systems.

• Hold a minimum of a 2:1 Engineering Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Software, or a related field.
• Have knowledge of different Hybrid & EV powertrain architectures.
• Understand HV systems of an electrified vehicle, such as EDUs, Batteries, Converters, distribution boxes, etc.
• Be proficient with the MathWorks toolset: MATLAB / Simulink.
• Possess strong teamwork skills, be self-motivated, and eager to take responsibility and deliver results with minimal supervision.
• Have excellent problem-solving skills and written and verbal communication skills.
• Be able to organise multiple inputs into a succinct summary
• Be passionate about the advancement of hybrid and electric powertrain and vehicle technology.

Preferred experience

• Experience in Formula Student/SAE team or similar.
• Understanding of hybrid and electric powertrain system functionalities and attributes at vehicle, system, and component levels.
• SW development background: C, Python, etc.
• Experience in electrical sizing and wiring of circuits.
• Electrical hands-on experience on vehicles.
• High Voltage Working Qualification, IMI or equivalent is preferred.
