Job description

A thriving, expanding software house is seeking an SQL Server database whizz to provide technical support on specialist management systems, working closely with the product team to assist with software deployment and maintenance.

What will you be doing?

Working with clients to:

• Schedule & prepare software ready for installation
• Liaise with clients to arrange and confirm software installation and upgrade plans
• Install software, updates and patches onto servers and client sites via remote access
• Configure servers (Company’s and client’s) ready for use including configuring databases and security
• Analyse data migration and integration requirements
• Prepare specifications and action plans
• Develop & execute data migration and data transformation scripts
• Write queries and procedures to select and extract data from SQL Server databases
• Assist with diagnosis of system issues and provide clients with guidance
• Set-up and configure systems
• Extract, transform and/or import data into clients’ system databases
• Carry out pre- and post-installation technical assessments
• Provide technical support to development team and clients directly
• Assist with configuration of software interfaces with third-party devices and software
• Implement, monitor & maintain system interfaces

What skills do you need?

• Experience of SQL Server databases including security, users, jobs, backups, maintenance, integration services
• Experience of SQL language including queries, stored procedures and functions
• Knowledge and experience of using IIS for monitoring, maintenance and deployment
