Chapman Tate are seeking a senior-level Enterprise Architect to support a strategic engagement with a banking client. Working directly with the CTO, you'll play a central role in assessing the current technology estate and defining the approach to future capability. This is a high-impact opportunity to influence enterprise-wide decisions, shape strategic direction, and introduce structure to a growing and evolving tech landscape.

Experience Required
  • Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect in banking or financial services environments.
  • Strong track record of working directly with CTOs or senior technology leaders to influence strategic direction.
  • Expertise in capability mapping, estate rationalisation, and future-state architectural planning.
  • Deep understanding of modern enterprise architecture practices, including cloud platforms, integration, data architecture, and service design.
  • Experience navigating early-stage or evolving architecture functions — comfortable bringing structure where there is ambiguity.
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or similar is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills — able to operate confidently at exec level.
Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the CTO to gain control of the current-state architecture, including applications, platforms, infrastructure, and data.
  • Identify technical debt, capability gaps, and areas for consolidation or enhancement.
  • Develop a target-state capability map, aligned with business strategy, growth plans, and regulatory needs.
  • Define and document the future-state architectural approach, considering scalability, security, resilience, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across technology, operations, data, and third-party delivery teams.
  • Support the introduction of governance frameworks, architectural principles, and tooling where appropriate.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, translating complex architectural concerns into clear strategic guidance.
