About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic English Teacher who is passionate about raising student achievement and inspiring a love for language and literature. The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching across Key Stages 3 to 5, planning and delivering engaging lessons that stretch and challenge all students
  • Use assessment data to monitor progress, identify gaps, and adapt teaching accordingly
  • Foster a classroom environment that promotes positive behaviour, mutual respect, and high expectations
  • Contribute to the development of the English curriculum, ensuring content is well‑sequenced, relevant and inclusive
  • Collaborate with department colleagues to share excellent practice, moderate work, and support student outcomes
  • Provide support and guidance to students, including feedback on work, extra help where necessary, and encouragement for them to achieve their full potential
  • Participate in whole‑school initiatives, pastoral duties, and contribute to school life beyond the classroom

Person Specification (Essential)
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
