Job description
Job Title: English Teacher

Location: Park School, Chipping Norton, OX7 5QH

Salary: £31,650 - £43,000 per annum (not pro rata) dependent on experience and qualifications

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent, Term-Time Only

Start: October 2025

As part of our continued growth, we are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our close-knit team at Park School, located in Chipping Norton.

Overview

We are participating in a 4-Day Working Week (4DWW) trial, allowing you to work one day less each week (or equivalent hours) while receiving your full-time pay. Many of our schools have already introduced 4DWW and others are preparing to roll it out as staffing allows. This role is aligned with that initiative where applicable.

About the Role

This is a key teaching and leadership role where you’ll deliver engaging and inspiring English lessons and help shape the future of our curriculum. You’ll be responsible for raising attainment, driving improvement, and supporting both students and colleagues to achieve their best.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver a broad, balanced, and differentiated English curriculum in line with the school’s aims and policies.
  • Provide strategic leadership for the English subject area, ensuring its development and continuous improvement.
  • Raise student attainment by fostering a supportive and challenging learning environment.
  • Share best practice and support the professional development of colleagues to enhance teaching quality across the school.
  • Monitor and support students’ academic progress and personal development within the subject area.
  • Actively contribute as a key member of the curriculum team, ensuring high standards and collaborative practice.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching English.
  • A track record of raising student achievement and inspiring learners.
  • Experience of leading or developing a subject area is desirable, but not essential.
