Job summary

A community-focused educational organization is looking for an English, Maths, and Science Tutor to provide 1:1 tuition for secondary-aged students without school placement in Chippenham. This part-time role requires QTS, UK classroom teaching experience, and experience working with SEND pupils or disengaged learners. Tutors will deliver tailored lessons in flexible locations, accommodating the needs of families. Pay ranges from £27 to £30 per hour.

Qualifications

Pay: £27 to £30 per hour

Contract: Temporary, Part‑time (15 hours per week)

Location: Within the community or pupils' home

Duration: Ongoing until the pupil can reintegrate into a new school placement

Closing Date: 06/02/2026

Responsibilities
  • Deliver bespoke 1:1 tuition packages in English, Maths and Science to secondary‑aged learners who are currently without a school placement.
  • Create, plan and deliver tailored lessons that bridge gaps in KS3 or KS4 and boost engagement and attainment.
  • Work flexibly within the community or pupils’ home, accommodating convenient timings for families.
Qualifications
  • QTS or equivalent, with UK classroom teaching experience.
  • Creative, patient and willing to think outside the box.
  • Experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to process a new application.
  • Provide two professional child‑related references.
