Engineering Trainer & Assessor
Birmingham - West Midlands Patch
£36,000 - £39,000 + Full Training Provided + Mileage + Excellent Benefits + Progression
Are you a Mechanical or Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking to step away from the tools?
Are you looking for a role that offers long-term stability & job security, excellent benefits, a brilliant work/life balance, training & career progression and the opportunity to coach the next generation of engineers?
On offer is an excellent opportunity to join a respected and supportive education provider as an Engineering Trainer & Assessor.
This employer is widely recognised for genuinely investing in its staff. They provide full Assessor and Teaching qualifications, ongoing CPD, strong progression opportunities, generous benefits and a culture built around development, support and teamwork. Their engineering department continues to grow, with modern facilities, industry links and a commitment to providing high-quality training for apprentices.
For engineers looking for stability, structured hours, personal growth and long-term career development outside of industry, this is an ideal environment.
In this role, you will work closely with apprentices across the West Midlands, supporting them 1-to-1 as they develop their practical skills, technical knowledge and confidence. You will coach, mentor and guide them through their apprenticeship journey, helping them understand real engineering principles and apply what they learn in their workplace. You'll build strong relationships with learners and employers, set development goals, review progress, and play a key part in their growth as future engineers.
The ideal candidate will have hands‑on Mechanical or Multi‑Skilled maintenance experience, ideally with exposure to plant environments, robotics, PLCs or mechanical systems. No previous assessing or teaching experience is required as full training and qualifications will be provided.
This role would suit an Engineer with a Mechanical bias who wants more stability and purpose, and can see themselves coaching, developing and mentoring others while benefitting from excellent training and progression.
