As a result, alongside several consortium partners, Balfour Beatty has been selected by BP (British Petroleum) to construct a first‑of‑a‑kind fully integrated gas‑fired power station with carbon capture and storage, which is a key driving force behind plans to make Teesside the UK’s first decarbonised industrial cluster.

  • Carry out QA on design deliverables prior to construction release
  • Provide site engineers with information derived from design deliverables (schedules, digital models, drawings)
  • Undertake independent survey checks at key construction stages
  • Produce as‑built drawings and records in survey‑specific software
  • Complete QA documentation and comply with hold‑point checks in line with Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) procedures
  • Collate survey records to support project commercial management
  • Maintain an inventory of survey equipment and consumables
  • Deliver daily safety briefings and prepare Task Briefing Sheets (TBS)
  • Identify hazards and raise observation cards, ensuring safe working practices for self and team
  • Liaise with senior surveyors, project management, designers, JV partners, subcontractors and supply chain to ensure programmed survey requirements are met
