Overview

Job Title: Shift Manager

Location: Slough

Salary: up to £63K basic per annum

Working Pattern: Shift Work (days and nights)

Our client is recruiting for an experienced Shift Manager to join the facilities management team.

This role is critical in ensuring the smooth running of planned and reactive maintenance on site, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer service. You will be the focal point for the daily work effort, leading a team of engineers and ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out effectively, safely, and to agreed standards.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate planned and reactive maintenance across building plant, equipment, and systems.
  • Act as the site Authorised Person, ensuring all safety paperwork and procedures are completed to the highest standard.
  • Lead the shift team, managing workload, training, and performance.
  • Respond to Building Management System alarms and carry out emergency repairs when required.
  • Supervise subcontractors and ensure compliance with site policies and health & safety standards.
  • Ensure cooling and water systems meet L8 compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records, including statutory logbooks and vendor reports.
  • Manage incident response and ensure business-critical systems remain operational.
Experience & Skills Required
  • HV Authorisation
  • Data Centre Background (essential)
  • Level 3 NVQ in an associated discipline.
  • Current Wiring Regulations certificate.
  • Emergency First Aid at Work qualification.
  • Strong experience in fault/incident management within a critical environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
