A leading energy solutions company in the UK is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to oversee and deliver multiple engineering projects. This role involves managing a CAPEX budget over £10 million, ensuring stakeholder satisfaction, and driving continuous improvement in safety and operational efficiency. The purpose of the role is to lead and deliver engineering projects within the allocated business unit and alignment with senior management teams for strategical planning and delivery of the engineering service
Assessing technical standards to ensure fit and suitability of project scopes for each area of Roadside Services in conjunction with stakeholder consultation and incorporating best practice for energy transition and sustainability
Provide competent and comprehensive Project management and support to divisional management team within Certas business unit
Develop and deliver Project plans for assigned business area for engineering incorporating business objectives and strategies
Manage a number of complex engineering projects at any given time with project values up to £2m+
Provide clear plans and overall strategical inputs to the engineering team for the business units to assist in direction and goals for the engineering team
Work with engineering business partners as necessary to develop capital project scoping and delivery plan
Provide detailed planning for delivery of capital expenditure requirements including production of CAPEX papers
Maintain clear and accurate records associated with above responsibilities in line with quality and audit processes
Manage process change projects through full life cycle to drive continuous improvement
Ensure effective use of IT systems, in line with the relevant Company policies and procedures.
Responsible for service provision from contractors and ability to operate on cross functional teams.

Identify training and development needs across the business providing expert advice and ensure that those responsible for providing this training are competent

Manage performance on a daily / weekly / monthly basis in terms of motivation, ensuring customer expectations are met

Strategically partner with individual business units to ensure maximum commercial value / market share is achieved from engineering performance
Assume a ‘reasonably practicable’ approach, reducing risk with a focus on operational effectiveness
Responsible for tracking and reporting on project spend and forecast
Develop engineering business targets, optimise performance and ensure your role in their delivery
Key role with significant customer focus providing customers assurance on engineering credentials and solutions in partnership at all levels in the organisation, as well as external, with DCC, key customers, contractors, suppliers, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders
Robust understanding of customers’ requirements and expectations and ensure service levels and requirements are maintained as agreed with the customers (Internal & External)
Partner with business leads to develop engineering process and requirements based on business strategy
Strong customer focus and the ability to distil complex information to customers in non-technical way
Ensure that the customer requirements are met in a courteous, professional manner always
Promote and embed a positive safety culture in line with Safety F1rst principles
Conduct audits and assurance reporting for projects to various internal and external stakeholders
Work across HSE and Engineering teams to implement contractor management process where applicable.
Responsible for ensuring process and standards are embedded within project works
Programme management of related improvement projects, drive lean processes, ensure data, systems integrity
Develop and lead a suitable process for HSE assurance mapping for large engineering projects
Monitor new legislation and implement any requirements, ensuring the business is aware of potential impact
Hold a relevant project management qualification and / or engineering qualification
Experience of using project management models such as Prince2 etc and software such as Microsoft project required.
Significant project management experience with ability to manage numerous projects involving stakeholder engagement, budget control, customer outcomes and specified deliverables
Experience of multi project delivery within a high-risk profile organisation would be beneficial
Experience of managing engineering projects within the petrol forecourt / EV sector would be beneficial
Experience of HSE management systems and permit to work processes would be highly beneficial
Knowledge and experience of working with CDM 2015 beneficial
