Overview
We are currently seeking a proactive, highly organised and hands-on Engineering Project Manager to support the team with the delivery of machine projects, from conception through to completion. This is an engaging role that would fit a highly driven, hands-on professional with a solid background in both project management and engineering within machine building. It will be essential to understand the concepts of commercial project management, as well as a background in mechanical engineering. The ideal candidate will be an excellent and confident communicator, able to manage and coordinate a project with many work packages and stakeholders, as well as take a hands-on approach when engaging with the Engineering and Production teams.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead the successful delivery of complex machine build projects, collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Manage all phases of projects from sales handover to machine completion and installation.
- Ensure projects are delivered to the satisfaction of the client for quality, cost, and time.
- Regularly meet with project stakeholders to provide and collect detailed updates, and provide project reports.
- Develop strong relationships with clients, as well as all internal and external project team members, ensuring smooth liaison between all key stakeholders.
- Manage the efficient delivery of project team outputs, in accordance with agreed timescales and quality standards.
- Work closely with the production team, taking a hands-on approach and supporting with machine build as required.
- Collate, distribute and manage all project documentation.
- Manage the completion of all CE documentation, alongside any other required bodies such as UL and UKCA.
- Work closely with the QHSE Manager to ensure completion of thorough risk assessments relating to all aspects of each project.
- Oversee the collation of the customer documentation package.
- Maintain updated job logs and record all operations accurately within Epicor.
- Oversee issues and risk logs.
- Assist departmental managers with resource planning and management.
- Create and manage SOPs and process documents for role related tasks.
- Occasional visits to international sites, as required by project delivery.
Essential
Skills and Competencies
- Commercial Project Management experience
- Hands on Engineering or technical experience
- CAD system experience
- Confidently able to use project management tools
- Proficient in all areas of Microsoft Office
- Experience of working with ERP/MRP systems
Desirable
- AutoCAD (Inventor and Vault) experience
- Epicor experience
- Project Management qualification, such as Prince 2
- Engineering qualification
