Overview

At VPK, we are passionate about packaging and proud of our people. We are now looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team at our Selby site. Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering team to build a high-performance, collaborative culture.
• Drive a proactive maintenance strategy, with a focus on predictive and condition-based monitoring.
• Embed a “zero failure” mindset and data-led decision making across the team.
• Deliver engineering projects from concept to implementation - on time and within budget.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Support cross-site collaboration, sharing best practices across the VPK UK network.
• Manage budgets, resources, and supplier relationships effectively.
• Promote root cause analysis to drive long-term reliability improvements.

What You'll Bring

• Proven experience in an engineering leadership role within a manufacturing or production environment.
• A relevant engineering qualification (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial); a degree or Master's is desirable.
• IOSH Managing Safely (NEBOSH desirable); additional qualifications such as Lean Six Sigma, Prince2, or BOAS are a plus.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience in the corrugated or paper industry is desirable but not essential.
