A leading UK-based engineering manufacturer is currently seeking an experienced Buyer to join their close-knit and supportive purchasing team. You will play a key role in supporting operations by ensuring materials, components, and services are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Negotiate pricing and discounts with suppliers
• Place and chase purchase orders across a wide range of items
• Set up and manage service contracts and manage breakdown responses
• Maintain appropriate stock levels
• Obtain competitive quotes and source alternative suppliers
• Secure approvals for high-value orders
• Support the sourcing of new plant and machinery with Engineering and Operations
• Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier data
• Ensure purchasing quality and compliance

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a Buying role
• Engineering or manufacturing purchasing experience is highly desirable
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving, planning, and time management skills
• Confident communicator with the ability to manage multiple suppliers
